Rising Markets Forum 2020, King’s College, London
February 29th, 2020, Bush House Lecture Theatre at King’s College London hosted an international business forum: Rising Markets 2020. Top managers of leading financial institutions, investment bankers, industry trendsetters spoke at the event. Literally, I entered the Bush House building at 8:45 AM and left it at 8:45 PM.
The aim of the business forum was to cover the main trends in development of the markets, including capital markets, specifically of Kazakhstan and Mongolia.
I spoke on Mongolia: geopolitics, partnership of National Chamber of Commerce of Mongolia and the chambers of commerce I represent — Moscow Chamber of Commerce and that of the Russian Federation. I also touched upon the potential of Mongolia in the gold mining industry and the capital markets sector. It was due to the virus watch in Mongolia that the arrival of my friend Munkhjargal Otgon, CEO of Golomt Capital, to London was not possible. We are hoping to conduct more meetings on the capital markets and investments sector of Mongolia later this year in Moscow and perhaps will re-visit London soon as well.
It was highly insightful to listen to Mr. Christopher Yoshida of Carlyle Group, Mr. Artur Krivov, Chairman at International Development Agency of Kazakhstan, Mr. Tran Ngoc An, Ambassador Extraordinary of Vietnam to the United Kingdom, Mr. John Davie, Chairman of Altra Capital Limited, Mr. Ahmad Jamaleddine, Senior Vice President at Citi Private Bank, as well as to all the other speakers at Rising Markets Forum 2020.
In conclusion, I want to thank all the organizers of Rising Markets Forum 2020. Special thanks go to Mr. Matas Danilaitis, the founder of the Forum, and Mr. Artur Krivov for his massive organisational input and for chairing the Economic Rise of Central Asia session in partnership with International Development Agency of Kazakhstan.
